Ram Prakash Gupta (Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh) deserves thanks for having pithily and pointedly made public the secret saffronite determination to demolish India peacefully.  Those agitated about Babri Masjid having been "demolished peacefully" and Ram Mandir slated for being built quite as peacefully, we have now someone to be beholden to for being truthful this once.  He said he would allow the Mandir to be built in Ayodhya as peacefully as the Masjid was demolished peacefully.  There is no ambiguity, no gray area of nuances, and no scope for misunderstanding at all.

  In fact, it is lies that have always characterized the Sangh Parivar right from its inception. That RSS is a cultural organization has been its boldest lie for starters.  (For its stinking and treasonous farrago of lies regarding the hijack of IC 814 and Kandahar, see A.G. Noorani:  A Tale of Shattered Credibility , Frontline, Jan.22- Feb.4).  From day one it was more than merely a political outfit, it was a totalitarian drive.  And, Project Peaceful Demolition didn't start with Babri Masjid .  It started with the repudiation and assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. For Gandhi epitomized India as more than a  geographical entity and  historical accretion as a nation-state.  Gandhi's India was a cultural construct in the widest possible sense.  It was this India he lived by, preached, promoted, propagated, and perished for at the hands of the assassin who, advisedly, severed his formal ties with the RSS before perpetrating the crime.  His mentors and ideological kin sedulously carried forward the dark deed he stained India with.  As if paying  Nathuram Godse a tribute his acolytes have multiplied his crime  at the macro level.

  No retraction or denial is either necessary or useful.  Because that will only compound the lie.  Read properly Gupta's declaration is tantamount to a very timely warning. Intent and modus operandi couldn't have been mingled so decisively any better.  The Masjid was demolished really "peacefully".  Since there was no organized resistance to the demolition, it was certainly"peaceful."  Had there been an organized resistance the police and army were there to "pacify" it.

  It was peace and pacification all the way.  From New Delhi of Narsimha Rao to UP of Kalyan Singh peace via "pacification" of potential resistance was mightily ensured.  In a similar fashion, says Gupta, "peace" will be maintained, law and order preserved, to facilitate the construction of the Mandir.  Earlier, "peace" was preserved and law and order maintained to facilitate the demolition of the Masjid.  In the mindset of the saffron brigade what is law and order and what signifies peace are strikingly clear in Gupta's statement.  It is in this light that we should understand the bloody orgies of Meerut, Maliana, Dangs, Surat, Manoharpur and scores of other places aimed at "teaching a lesson" to Muslims and Christians via annihilation and mass extermination.  The color of this  neo-Hindu fascism is saffron. 

  The "peaceful demolition" is proceeding apace.  From the rape of nuns to burning of churches and murders of priests, from the parade of a priest stripped of his clothes (Bihar) to burning a Muslim tailor after chopping off his hands (Orissa), from forcing tribals to adopt Hindu modes of hierarchical degradation to looting their lands and homesteads, from forcing urine down the throats of nuns (Bihar) to setting ablaze sleeping kids with  their missionary father (Orissa), from videotaping the rape and humiliation of Muslim women in Surat to setting afire their localities, and depriving them of their livelihood in scores of cities, it has all been "peaceful".  And it is such peace we are promised more of in the future.  Certainly one in Ayodhya. 

  The mutilation and mayhem characterizing the communal revision and doctoring of history  text books is just another facet of the same "peaceful demolition."  Those remonstrating can be shown the door or silenced for ever, "peacefully."  To further this sinister drive, rabid communalists and avowed murderers have been pitch forked into power in the Indian Council of Historical Research, Indian Council of Social Science Research, and National Council of Educational Research and  Training . The clamor for a presidential form of government, for a 5 year tenure of a minority  government bereft of the confidence of the legislature, for a Constitutional review to rescind minority protections and the system of checks and balances, are all pieces of the same diabolical design  so daringly called "peaceful demolition".  Destruction of Deepa Mehta's film (WATER) sets in Varanasi, and earlier, of M.F. Hussain's paintings have been equally "peaceful".

  Gupta is not a loose cannon. He is a devout knickerwallah, a Black Cap on pate.  He is feeling emboldened to push the RSS agenda through in U.P. after Gujarat, the prime paradigm of Sangh Parivar.  He is not indulging in skullduggery.  He is uneasy with wearing a mask.  That art belongs exclusively to Vajpeyee ("RSS is my soul") whom media has anointed as "liberal", "democratic", and "secular", who alternates between sleep and smile respectively signifying insouciance and craftiness, and who, when confronted with the heinous crimes of the Sangh Parivar in Gujarat, calls not for their condign punishment but a national debate on conversion.  When Advani absolves Ravindar Kumar Paul alias Dara Singh and Bajrang Dal by gratuitously issuing a verbal certificate of good character, he signals continued police protection to the criminal and encourages his depredations, as evidenced by events in Orissa later.

  Whether it be the domestic policy predicated on a pluralistic consensus and egalitarian impulse, or the foreign policy of the nation posited in popular sovereignty and economic self-determination, BJP (and its cohorts) have industriously wrecked the nation's distinction as a democracy, its dignity as a culture, its stature as a beacon of inspiration and morals.  Instead of cultivating neighbors towards raising India's strength, it has shunned or scared them.  Instead of soliciting regional union it has frittered away all the goodwill India had earned during its years of moral stances  guided by Gandhi philosophy and Nehruvian stagecraft.  Instead of asserting freedom of perspective and zealously guarding its right to moral initiatives, it has succumbed to the aggressive and elitist coercion of internal and external forces.  Just as in the domestic sphere the majority of people have been thrown to the wolves of the status quo, so too in the foreign affairs the populace and its resources are servilely put in hock to the western imperium headed by the US.  Democratic polity thus reduced to a skeletal frame, sovereignty has been surrendered to aliens under the aegis of the Sangh Parivar, slogans of Swadeshi facilitating the fraud.

  This jettisoning of national sovereignty is in accord with the Sangh agenda of ethnic cleansing (communal genocide), wrecking of societal cohesion, cultural degradation, massive immiseration,  dumbing down of the populace into bigoted robots, thwarting creativity through terror and brainwashing, repressing dissent and civic freedoms, neo-colonial slavery with attendant expropriation of national wealth for a few at home and predatory corporations abroad, pervasive cultural degradation, and abject bootlicking of neo-Romans.  Our freedom abraded and abridged.

  Guptas are the claws of the monster - saffron fascism.  If not demolished soon, the monster will demolish India.

WHY THIS DECEIT?  ASK YOURSELF:  'WHAT IS THE MOTIVE?  WHO GAINS'?

 It appears that the issue of appeasement of Muslims in India is simply a ploy to create resentment and hatred towards the Muslim community!  It has been and is being used to good effect to gain votes and create a fear psychosis among the general population.  My opinion is that there is only one looser:  India and her people!  Creating mistrust and confusion, hatred and polarization will certainly lead India towards chaos and destruction.

Dr. Asghar Ali Engineer Assaulted:

  Asghar Engineer, the well know Islamic Scholar and Bohra reformists, was recently assaulted by followers of the the head priest, Syedna Burhanuddin.  In addition, his home and his office were also ransacked.  The authorities should apprehend and punish the individuals responsible, whoever they may be.  People around the World have condemned this attack and have expressed the hope that the guilty will be brought to justice!
